This offer is the integration of programmes "Mastery in your hands" and "Hic locus ubi mortui docent vivos": through anatomy to surgery".

Basic surgical techniques, so-called manual skills have particular importance in the professional training of all surgeons. Surgeons constantly maintain the acquired skills at a high leveland learn new surgical techniques too. The higher  surgical technique on  simulator, the higher mastering in surgeries on patients.

Today, a thorough training of surgeons on the simulator, which precedes operations on patients, is considered mandatory all over the world.

Teachers of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographical Anatomy offer you to participate in sparring classes on working out various types of surgical sutures on simulators and biological tissues.

There is no medicine without surgery and there is no surgery without anatomy. Master classes in surgery are based on deep studying of the topics of normal anatomy and pathological anatomy that remain outside the educational program. Learners will have a lecture course from doctors of science, practical skills in use of various types of sutures on biological tissues. Learners also will visit the anatomical theater. 

As interpreted by a clinical physician, knowledge of anatomy lets you comprehend the pathological process and develop skills in primary surgical procedures. 

The cost of training of this program is 31,500 rubles, for VolgSMU students the cost of training is 25,200 rubles.
Note: Accommodation, travel expenses, meals and medical insurance are not included in the tuition fee. 

Please note that the formation of the group will be carried out with the recruitment of at least 6 people.

July 20.     The lecture "Suture materials in surgery". Sparring class "Manual techniques of knitting surgical knots".

July 21.    The lecture " Types of sutures. Indications for use". Sparring class on skin suturing techniques.

July 22.    The lecture "Vascular surgery". Sparring class "Manual vascular suture by Karrel, Morozova and Polyantsev".

July 23.    The lecture "Tendon sutures".  Sparring class "Tendon sutures by Kuneo, Kessler, Brown and Bier" on simulators and biological tissues.

July 24.    The lecture "Intestinal sutures". Sparring class “Techniques of intestinal anastomoses on simulators and biological tissues”.

MODULE 2

July 26 Human body: constitutional types, muscular system. The contribution of Russian surgery to world surgical practice. The evolution of surgical instruments. Pathology of dental diseases.

July 27 Esthetic surgery of the 21st century: «yes» or «no». The digestive system from the perspective of a morphologist. Digestive system: practical skills of working with biological materials. Types of sutures. Intestinal sutures. Precancerous diseases of the digestive tract.

July 28 Anatomy of the respiratory system. Pathological anatomy of the respiratory system. A modern approach to the treatment of chest trauma. Types of sutures. Skin suture: instruments, technique. Pathological anatomy of COVID-19.

July 29 Anatomy of the cardiovascular system: 5 circles of blood circulation. Anatomy of the heart. Types of sutures. Vascular suture: instruments, technique. Circulatory disorders. Medical  histories of famous people suffered from cardiovascular diseases.

July 30 Human limbs: secrets of gestures and gait features. Attendance  of the anatomical theater. Metabolic diseases (dystrophies). Medical  histories of famous people. Final exam.
