"Hic locus ubi mortui docent vivos": through anatomy to surgery

There is no medicine without surgery and there is no surgery without anatomy. Master classes in surgery are based on in-depth study of normal anatomy and pathological anatomy that is often beyond the scope of introductory anatomy. Those joining this course will attend lectures delivered by Doctors of Medical Sciences, and will acquire practical skills of suturing on the biological tissue. The students will also have an opportunity to attend the anatomical theater.

As a practicing physician put it, ‘knowledge of anatomy facilitates comprehension of pathological processes and development of primary procedural skills in surgery’.
